“There is no need to find just one thing as your life’s purpose. If you are multi-passionate, then it means your purpose is manifold, too!”
Who is Olivia Powers?
Olivia Powers is one of those seniors who cannot be confined to just one area of life. Her interests take her on multiple walks of life, which we at KSP were fortunate enough to help her capture during her senior session. Let’s take a look at her high school experience through her photos!
A Senior of Many Interests
“I love Krystal’s style and desire to express my personality through pictures. My sister and family had an awesome experience with her already so of course we wanted her to do my senior pictures as well!” said Olivia on booking with us.
Olivia is one of those young women who is a delight to get to know because there is so much to learn about her. We had done her older sister’s senior photos a few years ago when Olivia joined our model team for her own senior year. When it came time to do her senior photos, we were taken to unfamiliar locations that were full of life and Olivia’s history.
Olivia has been involved in shows at the Carnation City Players for 10 years. She chose the location because it is one of her “true happy places,” and she wanted to capture her love for theater. That place brought shy 8-year-old Olivia out of her shell and created the now outgoing version of herself. The theater has allowed her to meet new people from other schools with whom she would not otherwise be friends. It was there that she was able to be herself and take on found confidence. Her theater family holds a special place in her heart.
Because a good portion of her photos were taken in the theater, we went outside to take photos in downtown Alliance, where we found pleasant surprises around every corner. Flowers gardens, edgy exteriors, and a vibrant caboose added wonderful variety to Olivia’s photos, allowing us to capture her curiosity in the photos.
“The caboose was my favorite because it was extremely unique and different than your typical senior pictures,” Olivia told us. “I also loved the bright red!”
She included her record player, records, playbills, and ukulele, which she is happy to have included because they showed the versatility of her musical interests, her love for Broadway, and the various roles she has played. Her favorite roles at the theater have be the Cat in the Hat in Seussical the Musical and Louisa in The Sound of Music. Playing the cat was her first major role, and The Sound of Music had one of her favorite casts. She has played poised and quirky characters, which she says has made her even more outgoing!
Featured both indoors and outdoors was Olivia’s love for softball, which she will letter in for her fourth year as a senior. Most recently, she was named to her high school conference’s first team as a junior and as an honorable mention for the Northeastern Ohio team as a first baseman. As a junior, she was also a team captain when her team won districts. She said that the year was “really special and awesome!”
Olivia on her senior session experience: “It was absolutely amazing, and Krystal’s vision and effort to predetermine my vision for the shoot made it so special and perfect!”
Olivia does not know where she will be attending college next fall, but she is planning to one day become a pediatric therapist. We are sure that she will make the most out of wherever she is; her potential is endless!
When asked to give advice to future seniors, Olivia said to “enjoy every moment because it goes by so quickly; stop wishing for the future and live in the present!”
Keep rocking it, Olivia! Good luck!
